Recently, UICC invited its 1,162 members from across 173 countries to participate in a survey to help shape a better membership experience. The aim of the survey was to gain a better understanding of how members view their interactions with UICC, and how they rate UICC’s services and overall performance.

The results highlighted that the vast majority of the respondents’ valued UICC and its role and an outstanding 95% of members would therefore recommend the UICC membership to another organisation. In addition, the majority of respondents felt that UICC stood out from similar health-sector organisations.

Many of the respondents mentioned that knowledge sharing, access to information and networking opportunities such as the World Cancer Leaders’ Summit and the World Cancer Congress are among the most important reasons to join UICC. Others particularly appreciated being part of the global cancer network and the spirit of collaboration.

The headlines are as follows:

"UICC is truly global, working in many different aspects of cancer control. Feels fresh, innovative and forward-thinking.”
– UICC Member, USA

We are really grateful for all the insights and feedback received. The excellent results are a vote of confidence for us going forward, and we will look to build on this further in the coming years”.
– Dr Cary Adams, CEO, UICC

The feedback from the survey has already begun to feed into UICC’s planning process for 2020 and beyond and it will help strengthen UICC’s role and services further.

As part of the survey, respondents were given the chance to be entered into a prize draw to win a full travel grant to attend the 2020 World Cancer Congress in Oman. UICC is delighted to announce that the lucky winner is Nur Aishah Taib, from the University of Malaya, Faculty of Medicine, UICC Member from Malaysia.
