Breadcrumb Who we are | Governance General Assembly General Assembly The General Assembly is the supreme governing body of the Union for International Cancer Control. UICC's General Assembly meets every two years to elect a new Board of Directors as well as the new President-elect. During the General Assembly, member organisations are generally presented with a business performance overview, a review of the past two years since the last Assembly, and insight into the future plans and ambitions for UICC. Those eligible to vote do so for the minutes of the previous General Assembly as well as to approve the financial accounts for the previous two years. Eligible attendees As per the Constitution, the General Assembly shall be attended by: Full member organisations Associate member organisations Other observers by special invitation of the President Members of the Board of Directors The Chief Executive Officer Voting rights Only full members have the right to guide UICC priorities and activities through voting at the General Assembly. Between assemblies, a board of directors, elected by the General Assembly, acts as the executive body of UICC. Between assemblies, a board of 16 directors, elected by the General Assembly, acts as the governing body of UICC. Prof. Jeff Dunn AO from Australia is UICC President 2022-2024. Ulrika Årehed Kågström, from Sweden, is UICC President-elect 2022-2024. Dr Cary Adams is the Chief Executive Officer of UICC. He has occupied this position since 2009.
