Who can become a UICC member?

UICC membership is open to a variety of organisations, including cancer leagues and societies, research institutes, treatment centres, hospitals, scientific and professional societies, ministries of health, public health agencies, and patient support organisations. Other organisations such as coalitions, alliances or foundations are also eligible for membership provided they are registered in their country. In case of doubt, contact the membership team and they will be able to guide you on whether your organisation is eligible membership@uicc.org. Companies may contact partnerships@uicc.org

Can individuals become UICC members?

UICC does not offer individual membership, however, we encourage you to get in touch with the membership team to discuss how to engage your organisation.

What are the benefits of becoming a UICC member?

Members gain access to a global network, opportunities to connect at events, learning and development initiatives, and advocacy platforms. They also receive exclusive benefits designed to enhance their work, organisational development and impact. See here the list of benefits for UICC members. All staff affiliated to a member organisation can access the available resources. Specific benefits such as the invitation to the World Cancer Leaders’ Summit is limited to one invitation and voting rights to elect the Board of Directors  should be allocated to either the leader of the organisation or a person appointed on their behalf.

What is the difference between Full and Associate membership?

Full members have the right to vote for the new President-elect and Board of Directors as well as to approve the financial accounts at the General Assembly. They also receive an invitation to the World Cancer Leaders’ Summit, a high-level event that brings together key decision-makers from around the world to discuss and drive global cancer control efforts.  More information can be found on the membership leaflet

Who can participate in the General Assembly?

The General Assembly (GA) is UICC’s supreme governing body and convenes every two years to make key decisions that shape the organisation’s future. Participation in the GA is determined by membership type:

  • Full members who have paid their annual membership dues are entitled to vote at the GA. They can elect the President-elect and Board of Directors and approve financial accounts.

  • Associate members may attend the GA as observers but do not have voting rights.

  • The GA may be held in person, virtually, or in hybrid format, depending on organisational needs and member requests. This ensures accessibility for members across all regions.

For more details on voting rights and governance, please refer to the UICC Constitution or contact the membership team at membership@uicc.org
