UICC works closely with the World Health Organization (WHO) on key items for the cancer and non-communicable disease (NCD) communities, such as the global strategy for the elimination of cervical cancer and the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.

Furthermore, UICC's Breast Cancer programme engages the breast cancer community to contribute to major global health targets, in particular the WHO Global Breast Cancer Initiative (GBCI), and supports the WHO global action plan on antimicrobial resistance (AMR), leading a task force on AMR and its impact on cancer care outcomes.
UICC’s then President Sanchia Aranda and President- Elect Princess Dina, joined Dr Tedros and the Minister of Health of Ecuador, Veronica Espinosa on stage to close the Walk the Talk event and address the participants on 29 May 2018, in Geneva, Switzerland.
