What is UICC Connect?
UICC Connect is a knowledge sharing and community platform enabling cancer control professionals worldwide to connect, exchange knowledge, and support each other online. Opened for beta testing in October 2023, the platform is now open to all UICC members for dialogue, learning and collaboration.

How does UICC Connect work?
UICC Connect is a community-led platform, meaning users decide what they want to share and discuss, and each contribution has equal prominence.

Rooms
A number of discussion rooms have been set up following users’ feedback during the testing period to help the circulation of information and knowledge, and bring together people with shared interests.

Thematic channels are also available to organise users’ contributions.
As the community evolves, UICC Connect's rooms and channels will also adapt to the needs and priorities of the community.
Search users by name, organisation, location, areas of work and expertise or by professional field etc.
User directory
A searchable user directory enables users to easily identify and connect with experts and peers from across the world.
Just released and coming soon: Online courses
UICC Connect is also the platform to access UICC online courses. Courses currently available on UICC Connect include:
- The Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer foundational course - developed in collaboration with WHO - released in September 2024
- The Global Breast Cancer Initiative foundational course - developed in collaboration with WHO - released in October 2024
- The Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative foundational course - developed in collaboration with WHO - released in November 2024

Unlocking value for UICC members
UICC members are the cornerstone of the UICC Connect community. While the platform is also open to experts and contributors from outside the membership so that members benefit from latest knowledge and leading insights, UICC member organisations have unrestricted free entries to the platform for their staff, full user rights, exclusive access to member-only content, and UICC online courses.
UICC members are ultimately the driving force behind the evolution of the platform by contributing knowledge, asking questions, shaping discussions, connecting with others, and informing the creation of sub-communities.
Who is behind UICC Connect?
UICC Connect is built using the Zapnito online platform. Zapnito follows leading encryption safeguards and maintains cloud infrastructure best practices to ensure high levels of security and privacy for its users.
UICC manages the design and maintenance of the platform, including general community management responsibilities, driving engagement, fostering a positive and inclusive environment, moderation and ensuring respect of community guidelines. UICC’s role is ultimately to help meet the needs of the community.
