UICC Members invited to nominate for the second biennial UICC Awards

Nominations for Best CEO and Best World Cancer Day Spirit Awards open until 31st August

If there was ever a moment to recognise the outstanding work of the global cancer community, this year would be the year. Even as the world continues to be challenged by the coronavirus pandemic, UICC members are distinguishing themselves in their remarkable response.

Though the current situation has forced the World Cancer Congress and most of the UICC Awards to be called off, those for Best CEO and Best World Cancer Day Spirit will still be honoured in 2020.

The two categories highlight the importance of resilient leadership and meaningful collaboration to deliver impact and positive change in cancer control. Previous winners include Pat Garcia-Gonzalez of The Max Foundation, United States for the Best CEO Award and PROJECT Pink Blue, Nigeria recognised for the World Cancer Day Spirit Award.

“We cannot underscore enough the importance of our members’ life-saving work,” says Dr Cary Adams, UICC CEO. “Maintaining the UICC Awards this year is a way of recognising these extraordinary efforts and exceptional contributions in very extraordinary times.”
