UICC 2026 Mid-year Impact Brief

The first half of 2026 saw UICC continue to bridge global cancer priorities with practical action at national and community levels. Through advocacy, partnerships, capacity strengthening and knowledge sharing, UICC worked with members, governments, patients and global health partners to advance equitable cancer control around the world.

This mid-year impact brief highlights key achievements across UICC's work, including:

• Mobilising global action through World Cancer Day 2026, which generated more than 1,000 activities across 89 countries and engaged millions of people through campaign activities and storytelling.
• Supporting stronger national cancer control planning through the Cancer Planners Forum and practical guidance for countries moving from strategy to implementation. 
• Advancing access to quality-assured oncology medicines and diagnostics through the Access to Oncology Medicines Coalition (ATOM Coalition). 
• Strengthening the capacity of UICC members, patient groups and civil society organisations through funding, mentoring, training and peer learning opportunities. 
• Promoting cancer as a global health priority through engagement at the WHO Executive Board and World Health Assembly. 

The report demonstrates UICC's unique role in convening the global cancer community, amplifying lived experience, supporting country-led solutions and helping translate political commitments into sustainable action that improves outcomes for people affected by cancer.
