Register now for the World Cancer Congress 2022 in Geneva!

UICC staff and global health experts are excited to present the upcoming World Cancer Congress, to be held in Geneva on 18-20 October. Registration for digital access is also available.

Some 1,500 scientists, medical specialists, NGO and civil society representatives, Ministers of Health, high-level United Nations representatives and people living with or affected by cancer, are expected to attend UICC’s World Cancer Congress, which takes place at the International Conference Center in Geneva, 18-20 October. 

Highlights of the programme include a focus on the following

  • Improving access to cancer medicines in low-income regions, spotlight on the recently launched Access to Oncology Medicines (ATOM) Coalition
  • Advances in cancer screening, diagnostics and treatment, including vaccines, immunotherapy, artificial intelligence and precision medicine
  • Tobacco control – countering industry influence, regulating new products such as e-cigarettes, discussions on the “generational ban” implemented notably in New Zealand
  • The threat of antimicrobial resistance for cancer patients, the need for infection control and the rational use of drugs
  • The right to assisted dying – approaches and cultural contexts
  • COVID-19, Universal Health Coverage and cancer control
  • Hearing from people living with cancer – breaking the taboo around cancer and sexuality

The programme will also feature abstract-led sessions showcasing implementation science. Further announcements on the confirmation of key VIP speakers and sessions will be made as they become available.
