6 February: Partnering against NCDs guidebook launch webinar

Register now. The scale of the non-communicable disease challenge the world faces is staggering. Tackling the NCD crisis will require a significant shift in the way we live and work.

Header Paragraph

This can only be achieved through an ‘all-of-society’ approach, systematically combining the power and reach of all sectors. TPI, UICC and Bupa have worked together to co-create a new partnering guidebook designed particularly for non-profit organisations who wish to partner with companies against NCDs.

The TPI / Bupa / UICC guidebook, Better together: Unleashing the power of the Private Sector to tackle Non-Communicable Diseases – A guidebook to collaboration between Non-Profit Organisations and the Private Sector, was informally launched at the World Cancer Congress. Aimed at non-profit organisations (NPOs), the guidebook begins to set out how to bridge the divide between societal sectors, to engage with business and create effective partnerships to address the cause of NCDs.

The Better Together guidebook will be officially launched as part of a webinar on Monday 6th February 2017 at 12:00 GMT convened by TPI, Bupa and UICC, two days after World Cancer Day 2017.

The webinar, which is aimed at UICC and NCD Alliance members as well partnership practitioners throughout the health and non communicable disease (NCD) community, will be open to the public. The discussion will focus on the role of the private sector in the cancer and public health space, and the ways in which other sectors can partner with business in the battle against NCDs. The webinar will be moderated by TPI Director Darian Stibbe,  and will be introduced by Dr Cary Adams, CEO of UICC, and Dr Fiona Adshead, Chief Wellbeing Officer, Bupa. The panel, still to be fully confirmed, will include speakers from government, NGO, and private sector.
