2020 World Cancer Congress call for sessions hits record high

The call for sessions closed on 31 October 2019, breaking the last record, with 323 session proposals received from 60 different countries.

The next 2020 World Cancer Congress in Oman promises to be a memorable one, with the high number of session proposals received, it shows an impressive engagement from the global cancer community.

The 2020 World Cancer Congress Programme Committee is now busy reviewing all of the submissions in view of releasing the preliminary programme by Mid-January 2020.

The final results will be shared with the session organisers between 9 December 2019 and 15 January 2020.

Please find the next steps of the programme development here below:

  • 1 November –6 December 2019 – Review by the Programme Committee
  • 9 December 2019 – 17 January 2020– Notification to all session organisers (accepted sessions, proposals to merge sessions or rejected sessions)
  • Mid-January 2020 – 2020 WCC Preliminary Programme release
  • Monday 19 February 2020 – Scheduling of sessions
  • 15 January - 31 March 2020 - Call for abstracts
