UICC Partners Breakfast at the World Health Assembly

What will shape cancer control over the next decade?  
Strategy, access and collective action at the start of the 79th World Health Assembly

At the opening of the 79th World Health Assembly, this informal UICC partners breakfast will bring together partners from across the global cancer community to exchange on the trends, pressures and opportunities likely to shape cancer control over the next ten years.  As both UICC and the ATOM Coalition look ahead to their next phase, this gathering will offer an opportunity to reflect on the evolving global environment, share strategic insights, and identify areas for stronger alignment and collective action in the years ahead.

As UICC develops its Strategy 2026–2036, recent stakeholder consultations and broader landscape analysis have  highlighted a number of critical questions and new opportunities for the future of cancer control  — from changing shifting patterns of need and financing, to how the community can better translate advocacy into implementation and make the most of new tools, partnerships and policy opportunities. UICC leadership will present an early look at findings emerging from this process, ahead of the strategy’s formal launch later this year at the World Cancer Congress in Hong Kong.

The session will also provide a focused update of the next phase of the ATOM Coalition, including plans to accelerate uptake, strengthen country activation, and maximise the use of the medicines and diagnostics already made available through the Coalition.
