Go Pink Africa Day 24

For the 7th year in a row, the Go Pink Africa Day is a day dedicated to raising awareness on breast cancer (and other cancers) across Africa.

Previously Calabar Go Pink Day, the Go Pink Day has been one of the region's cancer advocacies, featuring "PINK" road rallies, free cancer screening for breast, cervical and prostate cancers, free post-mastectomy bras and free breast surgeries for patients, directly impacting 50,000 lives across six years.

This year's Go Pink Africa theme, “Better than One,” highlights the proverb "“two are better than one, but a community is best.”. Our goal is that no one in Africa should fight cancer alone. It takes a community to defeat cancer. Every single person joining the fight against cancer brings us closer to a future where no one faces cancer alone.. Let's come together as a community to spread hope and love!

The Go Pink Africa Day will hold concurrently in different cities, through the efforts of volunteers of Pink Africa Foundation across the continent.

In October, this project by Pink Africa Foundation and global partners shall include:

  • Free breast cancer screening for 1000 women
  • Free cervical cancer screening for 500 women
  • Free surgeries for 20 women in need
  • Free treatments for 10 women undergoing treatment
  • Free post-mastectomy bras and singlets for 100 survivors
  • Sensitization of market women on breast cancer awareness
  • Teach breast self-examination to 5,000 girls in secondary schools across Africa
