Go Pink Africa 2025

Go Pink Africa Day 2025 raises breast cancer awareness in Africa with rallies, free screenings & surgeries. Theme: “Rip Off Breast Cancer: Improve Cancer Care” aiming to reduce suffering & death from breast cancer.

The 2025 edition of the Go Pink Africa Day is the 8th edition since Pink Africa Foundation's inception. The day is dedicated to raising awareness on breast cancer (and other cancers) across Africa.

Previously Calabar Go Pink Day, the Go Pink Day has been one of the region's cancer advocacies, featuring "PINK" road rallies, free cancer screening for breast, cervical and prostate cancers, free post-mastectomy bras and free breast surgeries for patients, directly impacting 50,000 lives across six years.

This year's Go Pink Africa theme, “Rip Off Breast Cancer: Improve Cancer Care on the African Continent,” an embodiment of our resolve to end cancer, our message of defiance to fight cancer, our triumph, and unwavering hope, as we aim for a cure striving to reduce the suffering and death from breast cancer.

In Africa, breast cancer doesn't just claim lives, it strips the individual and their family of hope, especially when due to late diagnosis which is heralded by superstitions around cancer and/or the cost of cancer care. For many in our communities, a diagnosis is a silent death sentence due to inaccessibility to care.

Our goal is that no one in Africa should die because of fear, shame, stigma or inadequate support. It takes a community to defeat cancer. Let's come together as a community to spread hope and love!

The Go Pink Africa Day will hold concurrently in different cities across Africa, through the efforts of volunteers of Pink Africa Foundation in 8 African countries.

In October, this project by Pink Africa Foundation and global partners shall include:

  • Free breast cancer screening for 1000 women
  • Free cervical cancer screening for 500 women
  • Free surgeries for 50 women in need
  • Free radiotherapy treatment for 10 women undergoing treatment
  • Free post-mastectomy bras and singlets for 100 survivors
  • Sensitization of market women on breast cancer awareness
  • Teach breast self-examination to 5,000 girls in secondary schools across Africa
