UICC to serve as Secretariat for Mission Early
Mission Early is a global initiative uniting partners to improve early cancer detection, diagnosis, and treatment through policy guidance, evidence, and collaboration.
UICC is pleased to announce that it will serve as Secretariat for Mission Early as of 1 April, a global initiative focused on helping people receive cancer care as early as possible. Mission Early brings together organisations, experts, and advocates to give everyone the best possible chance when facing cancer by improving prompt access to early detection and timely diagnosis and treatment services. It works by developing practical policy guidance, gathering evidence, and creating spaces for partners to exchange learning and experience.
The initiative is supported by MSD, Sanofi, and Astellas, and looks at the whole early‑care pathway, from awareness and screening to early diagnosis and access to effective treatments. It encourages health authorities to strengthen these steps through better guidelines, better data, and more consistent implementation.
Mission Early's Advisory Group brings together experts from All.Can, Cancer Patients Europe and MSD who help ensure that the work stays grounded in real‑world experience and needs. The initiative was launched in 2024 and builds on global frameworks such as UICC's World Cancer Declaration, as well as key regional efforts such as Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan and the EU Cancer Mission.
By hosting the Secretariat, UICC will support the next phase of Mission Early’s development.
