UICC opens a member-exclusive course on how to advocate for better cancer control

An online course proposed by UICC, taking place 17 March – 21 May 2025, is designed to support members in their efforts to advocate effectively for better cancer services and policies in their country and region.

Building on its Cancer Advocates programme, UICC is opening applications for an online course on advocacy to support its members in building strong networks and coalitions, engaging with key decision-makers, and setting clear advocacy goals.

The course will enable participants to:

  • Identify and collaborate with coalition members to create a unified agenda
  • Develop an advocacy strategy
  • Create persuasive advocacy messages and plan relevant activities
  • Understand the principles of health financing and budget advocacy, and how to apply them at the national level

The course is delivered over 10 weeks, 17 March – 21 May 2025. It will be conducted in English, with additional webinars, resources, and discussion activities available in French and Spanish. UICC members who complete the course will be eligible to apply for upcoming cycles of the Cancer Advocates programme.

Deadline for applications: 10 March 2025
