UICC honoured to receive the "International Association of the Year" award at the Association Excellence Awards 2023
The category of "International Association of the Year" recognises European and internationally focused associations. Judges assess the nominees based on a clear strategy, effective workforce and member engagement, a proven track record, and excellence in leadership.
Maria Barbara Leon, Chief Operating Officer, receives the award on behalf of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) at the awards ceremony, in London, on 3 November 2023.
The Association Excellence Awards have been held annually since 2015, aiming to acknowledge the crucial contributions of associations, trade bodies, unions, and professional organisations in serving their members.
The judges were impressed with UICC's innovative coalition, which is transforming the way in which the health community and private sector work together to increase the availability of essential cancer medicines in low- and lower-middle income countries. An amazing organisation with an impressive external impact.
Maria Barbara Leon, UICC's Chief Operating Officer, attended the ceremony in London and accepted the award on behalf of the organisation.
