UICC announces candidates for Board of Directors and President-elect
UICC is pleased to announce the candidates for the UICC Board of Directors and President-elect for the term 2026-2028.
The UICC Nominating Committee received 51 nominations for Board roles and 8 nominations for the role of President-elect. Reflecting the outstanding quality of the nominations, the Committee shortlisted 24 candidates for the Board and 3 candidates for President-elect. These are higher numbers than in previous years, indicating both the strength of the nominations and the level of interest in UICC leadership roles.
The shortlisted candidates bring a diverse range of expertise and perspectives, representing different regions and backgrounds, and include many outstanding women and men.
UICC full members will elect the new Board and President-elect during the General Assembly, UICC's supreme governing body, which is convening virtually on 20 October 2026.
UICC wishes to thank everyone who submitted nominations and to the many individuals who expressed interest in contributing to the organisation's leadership.

About the UICC Board of Directors
The Board of Directors plays a crucial role in governing UICC, providing leadership and strategic direction for all UICC activities. It is composed of 16 voting members, including the President and the President-elect, each elected for a two-year term. Ordinary Board members are eligible for re-election for two additional terms.
They represent the interests of UICC members, and work with the UICC team to implement the organisation’s mission to unite and support the cancer community, reduce the global cancer burden, promote greater equity, and ensure that cancer control continues to be a priority in the world health and development agenda.
UICC encourages all its full members to cast their votes at the General Assembly and play an essential role in shaping the future of UICC and cancer control worldwide.
