The Country 2 Country 4 Country (C2C4C) ride, organised by Bristol Myers Squibb, started in the United States in 2014, then expanded to Europe in 2016 and to Latin America in 2022. It involves employees cycling long distances to raise money for cancer research, with over USD 16 million raised globally to date.

Bristol Myers Squibb and UICC have collaborated closely on the C2C4C ride since the event’s expansion to Europe. This partnership has facilitated significant fundraising efforts, with Bristol Myers Squibb donating millions of dollars to UICC’s member organisations to advance cancer research and provide essential support to cancer patients globally.

“Many of us have been personally touched by cancer. The C2C4C ride binds us together to work as a team in memory of our friends, family and the many cancer patients out there we strive to help every day through our work. I am in awe of how much this initiative means to us all on a deep level. I wanted to participate this year to play my part in raising money for UICC's members to support patients in getting the diagnosis, treatment and care they need to combat cancer.”
Monica Shaw, Senior Vice President European Markets, Bristol Myers Squibb

The fundraising period for the Country 2 Country 4 Cancer (C2C4C) ride in Europe opened on 3 June. The ride itself will take place 6-24 September, with more than 95 Bristol Myers Squibb employees from 17 countries cycle nearly 2,200 kilometres to funds for European cancer organisations that are members of UICC. Starting in Munich, Germany, and finishing in Uxbridge, United Kingdom, each rider will cover approximately 360 kilometres in three days.

“This year’s edition of Country 2 Country 4 Cancer is an occasion to celebrate 11 years of this fundraising adventure. UICC has been with Bristol Myers Squibb for most of this incredible journey, and we are very grateful on behalf of our members for the company’s generosity in supporting cancer research and people living with cancer. We are looking forward to this year’s ride.”
Dr Cary Adams, CEO of the UICC

The fundraising period for the European ride runs from 3 June to 7 October. Donations can be made to support individual riders, teams, or the ride itself, with contributions matched by Bristol Myers Squibb up to USD 200,000.

The Latin American C2C4C ride, scheduled for December, will involve over 55 employees cycling nearly 1,200 kilometres from Pucón to Puerto Varas in Chile. Bristol Myers Squibb will donate up to USD 50,000 to support fundraising efforts in the region.
