New call for applications to UICC's Technical Fellowships opens 3 April 2026

On 3 April, UICC is opening the 2026 Technical Fellowships for cancer professionals worldwide to gain hands-on training in cancer control interventions. Applications can be submitted until 4 June 2026 in English, Spanish, and French.

The 2026 call for Technical Fellowships opens 3 April and closes on 4 June. Technical Fellowships allow cancer professionals to gain new skills and knowledge in cancer control through short-term international visits of between two weeks to up to two months.

Applicants from Latin America are able to apply in Spanish as part of the Becas para América Latina, and those from Francophone Africa in French as part of the  Bourses pour l’Afrique Francophone.

Aligned with UICC’s mission, Technical Fellowships are designed to further the implementation of evidence-based interventions that have demonstrated public health impact in cancer control. Fellows may pursue topics spanning the cancer continuum, including prevention, early detection, access to treatment, palliative and supportive care, as well as topics related to the wider health system, such as cancer registries and national cancer control planning.

Applicants are expected to clearly articulate how their learning objectives are tailored to their individual professional context and institutional setting, while also relevant to broader needs in their home country, to help ensure that the knowledge and skills acquired during the fellowship can be effectively applied upon return, maximising their impact.

UICC is keen to support applications on topics that align with UICC’s business plan and path to 2028, including improving access and health systems for cancer, increasing attention on women’s cancers and lung cancer and advocating for greater people-centred care. In 2026, UICC is specifically encouraging applications related to cervical cancer, particularly projects supporting the introduction or scale-up of access to HPV vaccination.

Individuals working at UICC member organisations are encouraged to apply, and will be offered tailored support. Applications including one or more UICC member organisation as a home and/or host institution will be prioritised in 2026. Please contact fellows@uicc.org for dedicated assistance.
