Second edition of the Cancer Planners Forum to be held 13-15 May 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland
Building on the 2025 event, UICC will again convene national cancer planners and health officials worldwide in May 2026 to strengthen national cancer control planning efforts and foster cross-country collaboration in health system development.
UICC is building on the success of the inaugural Cancer Planners Forum in 2025, which brought together cancer planners from 40 countries, and is please to announce the second edition from 13 to 15 May 2026, in Geneva, Switzerland. Over three days, participants will explore how to effectively develop, implement, and evaluate national cancer control plans (NCCPs).
The Forum is tailored for professionals involved in cancer planning at the national, regional, or state level. The highly interactive three-day programme will offer participants opportunities to exchange insights and expertise with each other, receive hands-on learning, analyse case studies, and engage in practical workshops.
Key topics will include priority setting, costing, stakeholder engagement including people living with cancer, and monitoring and evaluation. The programme will also feature updates on the ICCP Project ECHO for national cancer control plan implementation, ICCP tools and resources – including a library and thematic guides, an interactive map of published NCCPs, telementoring, and technical assistance. Attendees will include government-appointed cancer planners, Ministry of Health representatives, ICCP partners, invited UICC members, experts, and Forum sponsors. The aim: to strengthen collaboration across sectors and countries, and to reinforce cancer control planning as a crucial investment in health systems and national development.
The Cancer Planners Forum is organised by UICC, in close partnership with the International Cancer Control Partnership (ICCP), the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
