Raise foundation organizes public lectures at tertiary institutions, radio programs and community engagement on the early detection and timely management of breast and cervical cancer. Our health talks include beliefs and facts where emphasis are laid on risk factors, symptoms and signs, diagnosis, screening, treatment and prevention as there is a need to increase information to girls and women of the relevant age on the importance of routine breast and cervical cancer screening. The messages which is disseminated in our campaign is on early detection and prevention of the disease. Raise Foundation is working closely with Roche product Limited and Niger State government and has already signed a five years memorandum of understanding to create awareness through social media, Radio and Television to train indigenous cancer specialist to build a state of the art cancer centre fully equipped and manned. The Foundation presently has a walk-in breast and cervical screening centre where screening can be done daily, mammography and ultrasound scan. A see and treat treatment of cervical carcinoma insitu with cryotherapy is done at the centre. we have a referral system to both secondary and tertiary care in place of treatment of advance cancer. The Foundation has a patient navigation system in place and all data generated is sent directly to the state cancer directorate for coalition and research. We are specifically involved in HER2 positive cancers with herceptin.
