Pink Hearts Cancer Support Foundation is a Kenyan community drive organization working to improve early detection, access to care and survivorship support for women affected by breast and cervical cancer, particularly in rural and underserved communities. Our work is shaped by what we continue to see on the ground: many women are still diagnosed late, not because they are unaware, but because screening and treatment services remain far, costly, or difficult to navigate. In many of the communities we work in, women often delay seeking care due to financial barriers, fear, stigma, or lack of clear referral pathways. Through community outreaches, we provide cancer education, promote behavior change and connect women to screening services through partnerships with health facilities and other stakeholders. We also engage communities on cancer risk factors such as tobacco and nicotine use, alcohol obesity and air pollution, while advocating for stronger prevention and early detection systems. Pink Hearts also supports women navigating life during and after treatment. We provide practical survivorship support including breast prostheses, mastectomy bras, compression sleeves, food support, diapers, and sanitary towels to help restore dignity and improve quality of life for survivors facing economic and social challenges. As a survivor-informed organization, we believe cancer control must go beyond awareness campaigns. It must address access, continuity of care and survivorship. Our advocacy is therefore rooted in real experiences from the communities we serve, particularly the realities faced by rural women whose voices are often missing in conversations around cancer policy and healthcare planning. We work with health facilities, community health workers, women champions, patient groups and others to bring cancer services closer to communities and strengthen pathways to care. We believe that where a woman lives should not determine whether she survives cancer
