NCI Misurata is dedicated to advancing cancer control in Libya through an integrated model of clinical excellence and public health intervention. While our core services encompass advanced diagnostics and multidisciplinary treatment, we have steadily moved toward the prevention and early detection pillars of cancer control. Beyond the clinic, we have spearheaded national and regional awareness campaigns. In 2021, we initiated the Midland Cancer Registry after contributing significantly to the first National Cancer Registry report in 2020. Following a successful UICC-granted capacity-building project that trained 46 primary healthcare providers in clinical breast exams, the Institute transitioned into a larger scale operational phase. As of September 2025, we are spearheading a pilot study across five breast clinics. This project aims to reach 5,000 women, bridging the gap between community awareness and clinical diagnosis, and establishing a scalable model for early detection in the region.
