Liga Nacional Contra el Cáncer Guatemala

The League was founded in 1953. Its financing comes from three sources: a) donations from individuals and institutions, b) charging for services provided to people with payment capacity and cost, and c) annual allocation from the Ministry of Public Health and Welfare. National League Against Cancer of Guatemala is a nonprofit organization that has three main areas of action to fight cancer: a) Diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients through their hospital, the National Cancer Institute "Dr. Bernard S. Valley" (INCAN), starting in 1957. b) The registry of cases with cancer through its Department of National Cancer Registry since 1975. c) Cancer Education and Prevention through THINK (prevention, health research) from 1996 Since 1970, Liga Nacional Contra el Cáncer Guatemala/Piensa has been full UICC member.
