Léman hope Foundation supports children and adolescents in Switzerland who are in remission from cancer by helping them regain confidence, autonomy, and hope through a unique therapeutic sailing programme on Lake Geneva. The foundation’s mission is to address the often overlooked psychological and emotional consequences of childhood cancer by providing life-changing experiences that empower young survivors beyond the hospital walls. Through multi-day sailing trips, participants are immersed in a safe, structured environment where they can challenge themselves, build resilience, and connect with others who share similar journeys. Out on the lake, far from the clinical setting, they rediscover their strength, overcome fear, and begin to trust their bodies and their futures again. By focusing on long-term recovery and psychosocial wellbeing, Léman hope plays a complementary role in cancer control—helping survivors move beyond survival toward a life of purpose, connection, and renewed self-belief.
