"The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) unites and supports the cancer community to reduce the global cancer burden, to promote greater equity, and to ensure that cancer control continues to be a priority in the world health and development agenda."
The King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) is the only specialized cancer center in the Middle East treating both adult and pediatric patients. Founded in 1997, KHCC is a non-governmental, not-for-profit comprehensive center dedicated entirely to cancer care. It has a capacity of 148 beds and currently treats more than 2300 new patients per year.
The mission of King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) is to provide state-of-the-art comprehensive cancer care to the people of Jordan and the Middle Eastern region. We are also working to improve access to education, training, public awareness and research in order to decrease mortality and alleviate suffering from cancer in accordance with the highest standards and quality of care. And the vision is to transition KHCC into a leading institution in oncology care, training and research that will be a pillar in elevating health care in the region and beyond.
KHCC became full UICC member in 1998.
