Montpellier Cancer Institute (MCI) is a non-profit private institution, exclusively devoted to oncology. It is part of the French network of cancer centers. Approximately 900 men and women work at the Center, located in the West part of Montpellier (Languedoc-Roussillon region).
Since 2011, the Center is directed by Professor Jacques Domergue.
MCI develops its activities in four strategic directions. These are cancer diagnosis and treatment, fundamental and clinical research, training and teaching for the medical and scientific communities, and cancer prevention based on health education. Because of this last activity, this center is the unique French center witch can be consider as a comprehensive cancer center.
MCI became full UICC member in 1988.
