The foundation has published a Childhood Cancer Handbook which is being disseminated free of charge to low-level health care workers, parents of childhood cancer patients, and community leaders. The aim is to improve awareness and information; while de-stigmatizing pediatric cancers in Nigeria. We have recently launched a childhood cancer research grant of $1000 to be awarded to 3 grantees in every annual grant cycle. The aim of this grant is to improve childhood cancer research and data availability in Nigeria. The foundation is also working on a project to train community healthcare workers in Lagos state of Nigeria to do a simple, 5-minute physical examination for children on vaccination days. This will help to pick up some common cancers by checking for eye changes (Retinoblastoma), abdominal masses (Wilms' tumor, Neuroblastoma), and bone tenderness or pain (Osteosarcoma, bone tumors)
