Since 2001, the Quebec Cancer Coalition (Coalition priorité cancer au Québec) is a strong a voice for people affected by cancer (patients, survivors and caregivers). We are a Coalition of over 70 non-profit members in oncology, from all regions of Quebec and Canada, representing all cancer types and stages of cancer, including prevention, clinical trials, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship and palliative care. Our members share our mission to shape public policy to improve the health-care system in oncology in Quebec, to ultimately better the outcomes and experience of people affected by cancer. We make annual recommendations to governments and health system decision makers, for and with patient partners and in collaboration with healthcare professionals and researchers. We mobilize all those involved in the fight against cancer in Quebec to improve care and services, and ultimately the health of the population. Our main priorities (2026-2030) in the fight against cancer are: 1) Promote value-based health care. 2) Ensure equitable access to the best care. 3) Guarantee patients ownership of their data. 4) Improve access to state-of-the-art diagnostics and treatments. 5) Strengthen prevention of avoidable cancers. 6) Raise awareness about challenges and opportunities in personalized medicine. 7) Optimize quality and participation in cancer screening. 8) Increase the participation of patient partners in the health system. 9) Improve quality of life for all cancers, especially rare and serious cancers. 10) Support psychosocial needs and return to work.
