Bugando Medical Centre

Bugando Medical Centre (BMC) is a tertiary/teaching hospital in Mwanza, Tanzania, serving about 13 million people in the Lake Zone region. It plays a central role in Tanzania's cancer control efforts. It is the second major public cancer centre in the country, after Ocean Road Cancer Institute in Dar es Salaam dedicated oncology department treating cervical, testicular, head & neck, and paediatric cancers, among others.

Screening programs, notably cervical cancer screening (VIA/LEEP), given that cervical cancer is BMC's most common gynaecological malignancy (~400 cases/year). In addition provide radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
