Breast Cancer Hub

Breast Cancer Hub (BCH), founded and led by Dr. Lopamudra Das Roy, Distinguished Cancer Scientist, Molecular Oncologist, Principal Investigator, and Research Professor, is grassroots nonprofit committed to reducing the burden of cancer through 100% FREE, sustainable, community-based cancer control solutions. In 2017, Dr. Das Roy left her esteemed position at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and dedicated herself full-time to providing 100% FREE services. She built BCH to bring cancer prevention, early detection, patient care, treatment support, and research directly to urban, rural, and underserved communities, addressing barriers such as geography, limited awareness, and financial hardship through a compassionate, holistic, and sustainable approach. BCH addresses the cancer continuum through awareness, education, prevention, screening, early detection, treatment aid, patient support, and research. Its initiatives include multilingual educational resources, one-stop cancer screening cards, educational videos, anti-tobacco campaigns, and the “BCH Know Your Breasts” app, promoting breast self-examination for all genders in 28+ languages. Through community outreaches, screening camps, and its pioneering Adopt-a-Village program, BCH conducts door-to-door screening, identifies suspicious cases, facilitates diagnosis and treatment navigation, and provides individualized follow-up and counseling. BCH further supports underserved and uninsured patients through treatment assistance, medical guidance, support groups, essential cancer care packages, and 12-chamber HealPress lymphedema treatment unit. BCH also conducts clinical and epidemiological research focused on underserved and understudied populations, with studies approved by ethics/IRB bodies in the USA, India, and Sierra Leone. Through BCH Clubs, Youth Ambassadors, and leadership programs, Dr. Das Roy empowers young minds with scientific thinking, creating a sustainable generation of advocates.
