Life beyond cancer for women survivors in Africa

On the occasion of International Women’s Day this 8 March, Belén Garijo, CEO Healthcare, highlights the work of UICC partner Merck Group in supporting women cancer survivors in Africa.

The CEO Award

2018 UICC Award Nomination Form

The CEO Award is open to Chief Executive Officers (or equivalent highest ranking executive or administrator in charge of managing the organisation) of UICC member organisations who have been in place for at least two years at the time of the nomination.

You may want to consider the following questions while answering: What was the strategic direction set by the nominee? How was the strategy implemented and/or resourced to ensure sustainability and long term impact? What leadership skills did the nominee use to develop and implement it? 

Impact - 300 words max

You may want to consider the following questions while answering: What were the objectives of the strategy the nominee set and what was its impact on the organisation? Where there any challenges? What was learned from them?

Collaboration and partnerships - 300 words max

You may want to consider the following while answering: How were other stakeholders engaged in supporting the strategy? Stakeholders may include volunteers, board members, as well as funders and partner organisations

Innovation and creativity - 300 words max

Outline any innovative approach, novel or creative techniques that you / the nominee used to solve issues.

The Fundraising Award

2018 UICC Award Nomination Form

The Fundraising Award recognises UICC members that have carried out a successful and innovative fundraising initiative such as a campaign, an event, a donation programme, a digital campaign and more. The submitted fundraising initiative can involve individuals, institutions and/or corporations alike.

Important note: each UICC member can submit a maximum of two fundraising initiatives for consideration for the Fundraising Award.

This is the person who in principle would receive the award on behalf of the organisation at the Award Ceremony at the 2018 World Cancer Congress. Should your initiative be among the three short-listed, this person will be interviewed by phone by the jury during July / August 2018. ​

You may want to consider these questions while answering: What makes this initiative creative and/or innovative? In the case of an existing idea, how did you make it your own in the implementation?

The Advocacy with Impact Award

2018 UICC Award Nomination Form

The Advocacy with impact Award aims to recognise the outstanding work of UICC members in developing and implementing impactful advocacy programmes or campaigns. Advocacy plays a critical role in cancer control planning and is necessary in any resource setting to influence policy and improve delivery of cancer programmes and services in view of reducing premature mortality due to cancer and other NCDs by 2025.

Important note: each UICC member can submit maximum one advocacy initiative for consideration for the Advocacy with impact Award.
