The 2025 Continent 2 Continent 4 Cancer (C2C4C) Japan cycling event kicks off!
Bristol Myers Squibb employees in the Asia-Pacific region embark today on the C2C4C Japan cycling event. Five teams will cover nearly 1,800 kilometres from 7-21 October to raise funds for UICC member organisations in the region.

The 2025 Continent 2 Continent 4 Cancer Japan (C2C4C Japan) ride begins today, 7 October, bringing together more than 55 Bristol Myers Squibb employees from across the region for a 15-day relay in Japan, to raise funds for UICC member organisations in Australia, China, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and Singapore.
Learn more and contribute to local cancer organisations via the official C2C4C Japan webpage.
The event features five teams, each cycling a three-day segment, with the route totalling nearly 1,800 kilometres. Riders come from seven nations, including first-time participations from India and Singapore, and they have trained for five months to complete their respective stages.
For the Bristol Myers Squibb employees cycling in Japan, their motivation to participate and advance cancer research is personal. Some are riding in honoUr of those who have lost their lives to cancer or are currently battling the disease. Others have experienced a cancer diagnosis themselves.
People who wish to support the riders’ efforts can donate to a corresponding UICC member or partner organisation. In the APAC region, these include Bowel Cancer Australia, New Sunshine Charity Foundation (China), Tata Memorial Hospital (India), Maggie’s Tokyo (Japan), the Korea Blood Disease & Cancer Association, and Team S.E.A. in Singapore.
“We are grateful to see the C2C4C Asia Pacific now supporting UICC members in the region for the first time, alongside events in Europe and Latin America. The energy and dedication of the participants embody the kind of collaboration and shared purpose that are essential to advancing people-centred cancer care globally. On behalf of UICC’s members, I thank Bristol Myers Squibb and all riders for their unwavering commitment and continued partnership in this shared mission.”
– Cary Adams, CEO, UICC
The inaugural C2C4C ride was held in 2014 in the United States (Coast 2 Coast 4 Cancer). Riders in Europe (Country 2 Country 4 Cancer) joined the effort in 2016, Japan in 2021 and Latin America (Continent 2 Continent 4 Cancer) in 2022. C2C4C has become a purposeful tradition at Bristol Myers Squibb, with more than $19 million USD donated globally for cancer research to date.
This year again, Bristol Myers Squibb will also contribute up to USD 50,000 directly to support rider fundraising efforts.
“The C2C4C Japan tradition brings many of our employees together. This year, for the first time, we have more than half of our riders participating from all over the Asia Pacific region. This is a true testament to our collective resilience and commitment as one BMS Asia Pacific family. This year, I continue to support our mission by donating and cheering on my colleagues. Together, we stand united against cancer, riding and contributing in honor of patients and loved ones affected by this relentless disease. We are stronger together, and our fight never stops.”
– Steve Sugino, Senior Vice President, APAC Markets, Bristol Myers Squibb
Fundraising is also open for LC2C4C Latin America, which takes place 1-9 December.
