Toolkit for news release on cervical cancer elimination

Français ICI | Español AQUI | Portugués AQUI

WHO Member States have adopted the strategy to eliminate cervical cancer alongside other health resolutions as part of the silence procedure launched after the recent World Health Assembly held virtually in May 2020. The adoption marks a historic milestone and sends a strong signal of worldwide interest in progressing on an essential public health issue even amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

The Global Strategy to Accelerate the Elimination of Cervical Cancer will be launched virtually by WHO on 17th November at a public event.

To assist its members around the world in reaching out to media outlets and policymakers in their countries, UICC has prepared a draft news release and talking points. For communication on social media, there is a short video produced by the Moonshine Film Agency, which explains the situation, the challenges and what needs to be done.
