Cancer Planners Forum 2025 – Report

The inaugural Cancer Planners Forum, held from 14–16 May 2025 in Geneva, brought together over 100 participants—including 44 cancer planners from 40 countries—for a dynamic exchange of ideas, strategies, and innovations in national cancer control planning. Organised by UICC in collaboration with WHO, IARC, IAEA, and ICCP partners, the Forum offered a unique platform to explore the full spectrum of cancer planning—from setting priorities and costing to implementation, monitoring, and stakeholder engagement. Through expert presentations, country-led case studies, and interactive roundtables, participants shared practical insights and forged new connections to advance equitable cancer care globally.

This report captures the key discussions, lessons learned, and forward-looking strategies that emerged from the Forum. It highlights the importance of inclusive planning, robust data systems, and sustained political and financial commitment to drive impactful national cancer control plans. Whether you're a policymaker, planner, or advocate, the report offers valuable guidance and inspiration to strengthen cancer control efforts in your context.
