South African NCD Alliance - National Key Stakeholder Meeting

11th and 12th February 2014

Today and tomorrow the South African NCD Alliance is holding a 1 ½ day national key stakeholder meeting as part of the NCD Alliance Medtronic Program Strengthening Health Systems, Supporting NCD Action, which aims at supporting civil society efforts to monitor national progress and advocate for improved NCD policies and the strengthening of health systems. 

The meeting will serve to galvanise awareness and unify support for NCD prevention and control, and brings together NGOs, policy-makers and government representatives, industry, healthcare providers and academics.

The agenda includes a presentation of the NCD Alliance Advocacy Toolkit, with a special focus on the benchmarking tool and Civil Society NCD Status Report, an evaluation of the South Africa NCD Action Plan, and discussions on sector-specific approaches to combat NCD mortality and morbidity.
