C2C4C Europe ride opens, uniting Bristol Myers Squibb employees across 19 countries to raise funds for cancer organisations

The 10th edition of the C2C4C (Country 2 Country 4 Cancer) Europe cycling event organised by Bristol Myers Squibb officially begins today, and will run until 22 September, raising funds for UICC members in the region.

Today marks the start of an 18-day journey across the continent to raise funds for cancer organisations that are members of UICC. More than 95 employees from Bristol Myers Squibb will cycle nearly 2,200 kilometres from Munich to London, demonstrating their commitment to advancing cancer research and improving outcomes for people living with cancer.

Learn more and contribute to local cancer organisations via the official C2C4C Europe webpage.

The C2C4C cycling events are a testament to the strong partnership between Bristol Myers Squibb and UICC, enabling employees of Bristol Myers Squibb to raise funds that directly support UICC’s mission and those of its members.

This year, employees riding in 10th edition of the C2C4C (Country 2 Country 4 Cancer) Europe hail from 19 countries with Greece represented for the first time. The other countries represented are: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The ride is not only a physical challenge but also a deeply personal endeavour for many participants. Riders are motivated by their own experiences with cancer, whether as survivors, caregivers, or in memory of loved ones. Their efforts reflect the human dimension of cancer research and care – that the person living with cancer and their loved ones are at the centre – and the importance of community-driven support.

Bristol Myers Squibb will donate up to USD 200,000 to UICC to support the fundraising efforts of participating riders. These funds will be directed to UICC member organisations across Europe, helping to improve access to diagnosis, treatment, and care.

As the European ride begins, fundraising is also open for the Asia-Pacific edition of the C2C4C ride, taking place in Japan and scheduled for October. This upcoming event will continue the global momentum of the initiative, with Bristol Myers Squibb employees in the region preparing to cycle and raise funds for cancer organisations in Asia-Pacific. Supporters are encouraged to learn more and contribute via the C2C4C Asia-Pacific webpage.

Fundraising is also open for LC2C4C Latin America, which takes place 1-9 December.
