Tianjin Anti-Cancer Association (TACA) was founded in 1984 and is the first established provincial cancer society in China. Its mission is to mobilize social forces in the Tianjin region to fight against cancer. The main duties include academic exchange, international collaboration, public education, and social service. Each year, TACA holds an annual meeting and academic symposiums on different types of cancer. The annual meeting has become the flagship conference in the field of oncology in the Tianjin region. Simultaneously, TACA launches World Cancer Day on February 4th and National Cancer Week on April 15th in Tianjin each year, benefiting over 2 million people. Since 2023, TACA has placed high emphasis on international exchanges, such as hosting international sessions during the 2023 Chinese Conference on Holistic Integrative Oncology (CCHIO) in Tianjin, which attracted over 600 foreign delegates from 100 countries. In addition, TACA holds professional cancer symposiums every year, covering topics such as lymphoma, gastric, and cervical cancers.
