NABD-BC2 , a non-profit, non-governmental national organization whose objectives objectives are
1. Advocate for a holistic, equitable and integrative approach to cancer treatment, particularly for breast cancer patients.
2. Improve patients' quality of life by facilitating access to complementary and supportive care.
3. Empower patients and their families with the necessary information and support throughout diagnosis, treatment and post-treatment.
4. Raise awareness and educate the public about breast cancer in particular and cancer in general.
5. Collaborate with diverse organizations to improve the Moroccan society’s
understanding and acceptance of the disease, including cancer-related perceptions, representations and stigma.
6. Collaborate with health care professionals and specialists to provide multi-
disciplinary patient-centered care and support.
7. Partner and network with local, regional and national authorities and international organizations working on cancer , especially breast cancer to meet the needs of
patients.
8. Advocate and lobby for the rights of breast cancer patients on a local, regional, and global scale.
The association activities focus on 4 key areas:
1. Enhancing communication among patients (support groups) , patient associations and between patients and others: surroundings, health care professionals and other stakeholders to better address the needs of breast cancer patients in Morocco,
2. Educating, informing and raising cancer awareness, particularly for breast cancer;
3. Supporting patients especially the most vulnerable ones since diagnosis and throughout their treatment and post treatment journey;
4. Empowering and Improving patient outcomes and rehabilitation through research and others, and addressing the challenges and inequalities they face at the family, professional, socio economic levels, among others.
