Medical and Community Support Organization Uganda is taking a key role in championing awareness on cervical cancer and other cancers in the post conflict communities of Northern Uganda. This is all being done by advocating for cervical cancer screening services in the health facilities and communities, creating more awareness on cervical cancer, prostrate and breast cancer with main focus on prevention, providing free cervical cancer screening services to the women in the communities of northern Uganda and also providing free cervical cancer treatment services to the women identified with cervical cancer lesions. this treatment is done by the use of the thermocogulators(therm-oblation) We focus on addressing the community, cultural and traditional myths related to cervical cancer disease and other cancers alongside conducting research mainly on cervical cancer disease to broaden the body of knowledge and more understanding on cervical cancer disease. MACSOUGANDA through its facility Christ Care Medical Centre Lira also provides cancer care services and play a pivotal role in ensuring that patients with late stages of cervical cancer and other cancers are refereed for specialized care and treatment at Uganda Cancer Institute. MACSO-Ugnada also provide home based care and economic empowerment support to the families of cancer patients to enable them have the financial ability and capacity to meet their treatment needs and care costs.
