Asociación Hondureña de Lucha contra el Cáncer

Asociación Hondureña de Lucha contra el Cáncer was founded in 1987. It is a non-profit institution dedicated to the prevention and treatment of cancer. They pursue their principles with education and early detection programmes, housing for patients, and by offering support groups for patients and their families. The AHCEC seeks the reduction of the incidence and mortality from cancer in the country's population through education, prevention and promotion of risk factors for cancer and early detection of it. Through the Center of Emma Romero de Callejas Cancer will provide treatment and care of the highest quality, all those who need it without regard to race, colour, creed or ability to pay. The organization aims to give treatment to cancer patients with their facilities for radiation therapy, and an outpatient clinic for chemotherapy, along with a linear accelerator, in order to provide an all-encompassing approach to treating those afflicted by cancer. AHCEC became full UICC member in 1993.
