IOZK
The IOZK was founded by Dr. Wilfried Stücker in 1985. While first focus was directed to treatment of HIV patients, the immune-oncology domain including innovative immunotherapy emerged since 2000. The IOZK-Group now consists of the IOZK-company and the Praxis für Immunonkologie & Translationale Medizin, the latter founded in 2018 by Stefaan Van Gool, MD, PhD, who is in the board of directors of the IOZK-Company. The IOZK-Company has a full-equipped Good-Manufacturing-Practice Laboratory, and received the approval for the production of Autologous Dendritic Cell Vaccines (IO-Vac®) under hospital exemption in May-2015. The mission of the IOZK-Group is to translate innovative research findings into clinical applications for patients with solid tumors and brain tumors. The current main focus is individualized multimodal immunotherapy and tumor microenvironment treatment, integrated during and after standard of care. Treatments are given in an outpatient setting as an individual healing attempt. The international spectrum of patients illustrates accessibility. The IOZK-Group operates at the intersection of research, pharmaceutical innovation and patient care, maintaining the highest scientific and ethical standards. Its translational model exemplifies the integration of laboratory science and clinical application, with the goal of achieving measurable improvements in patient outcomes and setting new standards in individualized cancer therapy.
