UICC wins Digital Communication Award for "Let's Talk Cancer" podcast series

The Digital Communication Awards (DCA) recognise exceptional online projects and campaigns from companies, agencies, associations, NGOs, political institutions and parties worldwide.  

Winning the international award for best Digital Publishing project UICC’s commitment and ability to raise awareness, share knowledge and promote dialogue on cancer-related issues on a global scale. 

"Let’s Talk Cancer", hosted by Cary Adams, CEO of UICC, dives into topics most relevant to the cancer community with leading experts in their fields. These topics include tobacco control and the commercial determinants of health, anti-microbial resistance, innovation in prevention and treatment, universal health coverage, patient experiences, and issues of equity and fair access to services. 

The podcast was developed with a strong emphasis on inclusivity and diversity, relying on limited resources. The series features guests from a wide range of backgrounds and highlighting the unique challenges and perspectives of different groups taking action against cancer. 

UICC also won 2nd place for in the “short clips” category with a video on the history of cancer. As cancer is often associated with sadness, fear and despair, UICC wanted to present a broader perspective of cancer, highlighting the progress that has been made in diagnosis, treatment and prevention over the years. While acknowledging that challenges remain, such as global health equity issues, the video aims to inspire hope and optimism about the future of cancer care.
