The UICC Advocacy Network, brings together over 100 UICC members across 65 countries. The individuals involved come from national cancer societies, research institutes, patient groups, professional societies and prevention groups amongst others, and all UICC members are welcome to join.
Our strength comes from the diverse expertise and experiences that the Advocacy Network can draw on to help shape, inform and deliver policy changes. Since 2011, the Network has played an important role in positioning cancer and other NCDs as a global health and development issue, securing cancer-specific commitments from governments around the world, and helping to drive their implementation at national level.
Looking ahead, our vision is of an active network that can help inform, shape and drive the work of the UICC Knowledge, Advocacy and Policy team globally. This group will be essential to the ongoing work in follow-up to the 2017 cancer resolution and global NCD commitments, under the umbrella Treatment for All campaign, as well in preparations for global advocacy opportunities like the UN High-level Meeting on universal health coverage (UHC). Read more about the network here.
The Advocacy Network is open to all UICC members. Requests to join the network should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com, with a short message detailing what advocacy work you are currently undertaking and which thematic areas you are particularly interested in pursuing further.
If you are already a member of the Advocacy Network but are not receiving the advocacy email updates, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
