UICC Advocacy Network

The UICC Advocacy Network, brings together over 100 UICC members across 65 countries

The UICC Advocacy Network, brings together over 100 UICC members across 65 countries and its goal are to:

  • Strengthen collaborations with advocacy focused UICC members to represent their voices more effectively in global fora
  • Support UICC members to use global discussions, commitments, resources, and action plans to strengthen their national advocacy work

The individuals that are part of the UICC advocacy network come from national cancer societies, research institutes, patient groups and professional societies amongst others.

The strength of the Advocacy Network comes from the diverse expertise and experiences that it can draw on to help shape, inform and deliver policy changes. Since 2011, the Network has played an important role in positioning cancer and other NCDs as a global health and development issue, securing cancer-specific commitments from governments around the world, and helping to drive their implementation at national level.

Looking ahead, the Network will work to build an active network that can help inform, shape, and drive the work of the UICC KAP team globally. This group will be essential to the ongoing work in follow-up to the 2017 cancer resolution and key global commitments on NCDs and universal health coverage (UHC).
