World Cancer Congress 2022: a milestone for the global cancer community

The World Cancer Congress is returning in 2022 in a live format for actors in cancer control around the world to connect and learn from each other. An opportunity not to be missed!

Header Paragraph

After its cancellation in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, UICC’s World Cancer Congress will next take place this 18-20 October in Geneva, Switzerland, a global health hub where UICC is headquartered.

This powerful convening platform for the cancer community will offer a wide range of sessions to address topics of extreme relevance in the current health and economic context.

Participants or delegates will have the opportunity to meet once again face-to-face with experts in cancer control and gain insight into how to enact sustainable change and initiate new projects and programmes that drive progress.

They will find practical advice and discover new perspectives to innovate in their respective fields of work and access training opportunities in the form of workshops and roundtable discussions.

Delegates will also be able to play an active role and share views and expertise as well as present their work in sessions, at exhibition stands or through abstracts available for consultation on the Congress digital platform that opens to registered participants in the weeks proceeding the event to allow them to connect and receive exclusive content related to the Congress.

Organisations and individuals are further encouraged to showcase a particular aspect of cancer care – through the work of a caregiver, the journey of a patient, the experience of an advocate – in a film they can submit for the UICC cinema programme taking place during the Congress. A selection of shortlisted films and campaign clips will available to registered participants on the Congress platform and during the event there will be live discussions with the organisations and individuals involved in the production of the films.

Finally, the 2022 World Cancer Congress programme will include theme-based pavilions (drawing on the Congress programme themes) where delegates can connect with peers and learn more informally from experts in specific fields. Participants can also make appointments with speakers and other delegates at these pavilions or via the online platform.

UICC is excited to be hosting such a dynamic and interactive event and looks forward once again to connect the global actors in cancer control in person in Geneva.
