Header Paragraph

2021 has been another year marked by the pandemic, creating more uncertainty, forcing more adaptions but providing opportunities that the cancer community has not failed to seize and seeing noticeable successes of which it can be proud.

In his end-of-year address, Dr Cary Adams, CEO of UICC, thanks UICC’s members, partners and the entire cancer community. He recognises their resilience during another year of the COVID-19 pandemic and expresses his gratitude for their support, commitment and dedication to improving cancer control around the world.

Cary also highlights the major UICC-led events that have taken place in 2021: World Cancer Day, which trended globally on social media; and the first-ever virtual World Cancer Leaders’ Summit that brought together over 600 participants from more than 100 countries.
