What a year 2020 turned to be...
People living with cancer and their families, the nurses, doctors, volunteers and other caregivers who support them, as well as researchers and advocates, faced the fear of contracting COVID-19, disruptions in the delivery of health services, suspended treatment, diagnostics and programmes, isolation, drops in funding, layoffs and more.
Yet they have rallied in heroic fashion. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, UICC has been relaying how its members and partners have adapted and responded to the extraordinary challenges they have faced. They have come together for support, shared resources and information, and found innovative ways to continue providing life-saving care.
The entire UICC staff thank them for their courage and dedication, and offer their best wishes for the end of year!
