This past World Cancer Day, “Together, all of our actions mattered”

Together, UICC, its members and partners and the entire cancer community ended the World Cancer Day 2019-2021 campaign on a high note, making the final year of “I Am and I Will” a significant success.

Header Paragraph

This past World Cancer Day took place as the COVID-19 pandemic continued to hold the world in its grip and divert the attention of governments, media and the general public.

The cancer community came together on 4th February 2021, however, to show the world that cancer as a global health issue remains as acute as ever.

The World Cancer Day 2021 Impact Report and the Summary Review 2019-2021 show all the inspiring actions that were taken and the incredible reach of the "I Am and I Will" campaign.

UICC is grateful for the unfailing engagement shown by its members and partners, the health community, organisations, businesses, leaders, governments and individuals from all walks of life.

UICC also thanks all those who supported the first edition of the World Cancer Day Solidarity Challenge, such as NCC Korea. This unique event brought together thousands of keen cyclists, sports enthusiasts and celebrities from around the world to help raise funds for UICC in support of its members and the international cancer community.

The participation of UICC members in the World Cancer Day Survey, where they shared their thoughts and insights, is particularly helpful in shaping the next campaign. UICC congratulates the Somali Cancer Society for winning a free membership for 2021.

The collective efforts of organisations and individuals around the world, have led to a greater awareness of cancer, improved education and strengthened the political will to work towards a healthier world where millions of lives are saved from cancer.

Together, the cancer community can be proud of the significant impact it achieved on World Cancer Day.
