Members express great satisfaction and their trust in UICC

The overwhelming positive feedback from the recent UICC member survey provides insight into how UICC can develop its services in the future.

Header Paragraph

It is important for UICC to understand whether it is meeting the needs of its members. For this reason, UICC invited its members to participate in a survey, as the views and recommendations expressed in the responses enable UICC to adapt its activities, improve its services and strengthen the member experience.

A total of 85% of respondents said they were either “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with the UICC membership; and 96% of respondents said their experience interacting with UICC was either “good” or “very good”, with 70% responding “very good” compared to 56% in 2019. 92% of respondents would recommend UICC membership to another organisation, against 95% in 2019.

UICC was honoured to see the increase in satisfaction rates since the last membership survey in 2019 and that the majority of the respondents value UICC and its role and would recommend the organisation to others. It is an outstanding message of support that shows the engagement and appreciation of UICC’s membership.

“We are very happy to see that our members appreciate our continuous efforts to provide the highest level of service. The excellent results of this survey are a vote of confidence for us going forward, and we will look to build on this further in the coming years.”
– Muriel Auclaire, Senior Membership Manager, Members and Partners Development, UICC

Members were also given the opportunity to assess the wide range of activities and resources offered by UICC and the results show that members see them as relevant to their organisations. The top-rated benefits include the invitation to the World Cancer Leaders' Summit, tailored guidance for the World Cancer Day Campaign and the Virtual Dialogues.

Responses to the survey will also feed into the Strategy Review process that UICC is conducting. Looking ahead at future developments, members were invited to reflect on trends that will have an impact on cancer control. Findings include perspectives on the medium-term impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which continues to challenge the community. 42% of members expect reduction in staff and/or salaries, 55% expect reductions in organisational activities or services and 65% expect reductions in anticipated income. The full results will be presented and discussed during the Virtual Dialogue on the Strategy Review to be held on 21 June and at the General Assembly on 11 October.

As in 2019, some 250 members, more than 20%, responded to the survey.
