HM Queen Letizia of Spain visits UICC

31 May 2018  - Her Majesty Queen Letizia of Spain today visited the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

In her role as Honorary President of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), a member organisation of UICC, Her Majesty's visit was an opportunity for her to learn first-hand about UICC’s work and impact and explore how Spain can be more active in the international fight against cancer.

On the agenda for discussion was UICC’s ‘C/Can 2025: City Cancer Challenge’ which supports cities around the world to improve access to cancer treatment and care.

HM Queen Letizia was welcomed by HRH Princess Dina Mired of Jordan, President-elect of UICC and Dr Cary Adams, CEO of UICC. She was also be joined by Spain’s Secretary of State for the Society of Information and Digital Agenda, HE Mr José María Lassalle Ruiz; HE Mr Cristóbal González-Aller Jurado, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Spain to the United Nations in Geneva; and Mrs Ines Entrecanales, Vice-President, Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer (AECC).
